| PRODUCT INFORMATION |
|
| |
| Lightweight fillers were developed mainly for
applications, where a reduction of the weight of a part is required.
These fillers are also used to enhance the thermal shock resistance
of the synthetic polyester kitchen sinks. |
| |
| CALCILIGHT is a light
grey colored filler. Therefore, this product is mainly recommended
for back pour applications. In this case a pigmented gel coat
is sprayed onto the mold prior to casting. As another option
a pigmented mix of CALCILIGHT and polyester resin is casted. |
| |
| ULTRALIGHT is a white
filler and therefore a clear layer gel coat can be applied.
This product requires less pigment to become solid colored and
may be veined as well. |
| |
| ONYXLIGHT is a ATH
based white filler with a finer particle size distribution which
creates a smoother surface and a translucent effect of the final
casting. |
| |
| The use of LIGHTWEIGHT
fillers results in a number of advantages: |
| - Lower weight of a part for easier installation and
lower transport costs |
| - Improved impact and thermal shock resistance |
| - Improved insulation |
| - Lower resin demand |
| - Lower exothermic temperature |
|
| |
| RESIN REQUIREMENT |
|
| |
| A standard marble resin can be used for CALCILIGHT
and ULTRALIGHT. A clear resin designed
for cultured onyx is recommended for ONYXLIGHT
for best results. Filler to resin ratio is approx. 60 : 40.
The reduction of the weight of a part ranges from 25 to 40%
depending on the type of the filler which has been used. |
